The film examines book challenges\, including the role of Christian nationalism\, and highlights why intellectual freedom and the freedom to read are essential to democracy. The screening will include an introduction and discussion led by Kerol Harrod\, MA\, MLS.

For anyone interested in learning more about rising Islamophobia and efforts to combat it. A halal dinner is included with registration. We are asking each registrant to pay $10 toward the cost of the meal.

DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\nLEARN MORE\nSunday\, January 24 through Tuesday\, January 26\, 2027\nfrom 1:00 PM Sunday to 12:00 PM Tuesday\nHoliday Inn Austin Midtown\n6000 Middle Fiskville Rd\, Austin\, TX\nTexas United Women in Faith and Texas Impact invite women of faith from across Texas to the 40th Annual Texas Legislative Event. Sunday and Monday bring speakers\, inspiration\, and workshops (in person or virtual) focused on justice\, freedom\, and opportunity for all\, especially women and children. On Tuesday\, in-person attendees head to the Capitol to meet with lawmakers. In-person registration is $160 through December 16 (then $195) and includes lunch and dinner; virtual registration is $50. Register by January 14 to have legislative visits scheduled for you\, and scholarships are available.
