Service of Installation: Rev. Matthew Aldas
Grace Presbytery, together with Faith Presbyterian Church in Aledo, will offer a service of installation on Sunday, January 30th at 10:30 a.m. to install Rev. Matthew Aldas as pastor and head of staff.
Matthew grew up in the Dallas suburbs. He loved video games, playing baseball, and the Dallas Cowboys. He experienced a spiritual awakening as a teenager and felt a call to pastoral ministry. While pursuing his BA in Biblical Studies at Criswell College in Dallas, he met his wife, Kathryn. She corrected some of his erroneous opinions on one of the world’s greatest bands and subsequently won his heart.
They married in December of 2005, and now have three amazing daughters, Kyrie (14), Koryn (11), and Kinley (4). Matthew worked in banking and insurance before pursuing vocational ministry by attending Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. He earned his MDiv in 2016, and accepted his first ordained call in 2017 as Associate Pastor at Raleigh Court Presbyterian in Roanoke, VA.
In 2019, Matthew accepted the call to pastor Buchanan Presbyterian Church, in Buchanan, VA. After four years away from family in Texas, Matthew and Kathryn felt it was time to return to their home state and opened themselves up to new ministry opportunities.
The call from Faith Presbyterian of Aledo came at just the right time, bringing Matthew and his family back to the Metroplex, and giving them the chance to lead Faith Aledo into the next phase of church life in a rapidly growing area.
Matthew is passionate about the authentic, connectional life of the church as it fuels the depth and faith maturity of its members.
We are grateful for the opportunity to worship with the members of Faith Presbyterian Church and delighted to officially welcome and install Matthew!
Faith Presbyterian Church is located at 301 Bailey Ranch Road in Aledo, Texas.
