Greetings from the Social Justice Task Force of Grace Presbytery.

Over the last several months, the SJTF has been approved by Council, recruited members, met monthly, and begun planning events that will nurture the hearts and minds of people in our local churches.

Beginning in January 2021, we will offer hands-on work opportunities in partnership with other groups in North Texas that benefit communities in need; we will offer a 21-day Racial Justice Challenge which includes a commitment to “watch, read, and listen” to specially selected media each day for 21 days; we have also planned a four-session seminar via Zoom with the Rev. Dr. Michael Waters titled “Race in America.”

As a prologue to the latter, Rev. Dr. Michael Waters (pictured above) will lead a Zoom seminar for pastors, educators, and other church leaders on October 12, at 7:00 p.m.

This seminar is titled “Race in Dallas.”  This opportunity is offered free of charge, but advance registration is required to participate, as there is limited space available.

Please consider joining us, and feel free to extend this invitation to your pastor(s), your church educator, and your fellow church leaders!
