Minutes Review Session

Are you a clerk of session? Are you aware that your minutes are required by the Book of Order to be reviewed by the presbytery each year? Would you like to access training on how to be a clerk? Please find the answers to these questions on the Stated Clerk’s webpage.
Our official session records review and clerk trainings will be held in three sites this year:
- Saturday, March 21, 2026, 9:30 AM to 1 PM, at Alpine-First Presbyterian Church, Longview
- Saturday, April 18, 2026, 9:30 AM to 1 PM, at Central Presbyterian Church, Woodway
- Saturday, April 25, 2026, 9:30 AM to 1 PM, at the Presbyterian Mission Center, Irving
You may choose any of these sites even if they are not in your region. The agenda for the day will be a peer review of minutes as well as an update on what problem areas are arising as well as changes we are seeing for churches. I will bring sample policies and resources. You will notice this year that we are sending you the full review checklist. Some clerks have been utilizing very old checklists out of confusion, so I’m putting before you the entire list you always must attend to. Please fill out the entire form with page numbers before your review. If you really need what has come to be known as a buddy system review, please let me know in advance of doing that review (by October 1). I need to know who each church’s buddy will be, when, and where you plan to review. For those who indicate to me ahead of time, a training will be offered for new Clerks of Session at the end of the reviews listed above. Please let me know if a new clerk is attending.
